Those bastard spammers have given me the sh*ts once too many times. I'm sick of the daily ritual of entering user moderation and clicking "Delete All' to the seven or more Russian email addresses that have attempted to register on this forum.

If you're really determined to join this forum, then it's not particularly difficult to find a way to contact me to request access. For example, I have a homepage that mentions PACE...

I know what you mean.

I suspended my whole forum for the same reason.

Well that and due to having little to chat about based on my lack of effort/progress.

Don't you just hate it when real life gets in the way of your hobby!

Cheers.

IMHO, the internet is right at the cusp of a major degradation of the "user experience". With the ever-increasing volumes of spam, increased viral threats, the gradual demise of usenet news, and - perhaps most annoyingly - the infiltration of advertising into almost every aspect of the web, very soon it just won't be worth the effort of filtering through the crap.

It has taken a while, but the bottom-feeders of society (i.e. criminals and advertisers and just plain annoying little sh*ts) are starting to get the hang of the whole internet thing. They're all learning new ways to push crap at you, rip you off, steal your data and generally get in your face. And the big players like Google etc want a cut of it so they help facilitate the whole mess.

Everything in life starts out as a good idea and ends up completely f***ed by money and greed. The internet is just another one of those things. A simple fact of life.

And yes, [Real] Life is something that happens while you're busy planning other things.
